OUR HISTORY
United Twirl England (UTE) is the unified organisation, created by the merger of NBTA England and the BBTSA, with the ultimate goal of forming a governing body for the sport of baton twirling & majorettes within England.
MAJORETTES
The original hobby of majorettes, performing in carnivals and displays, formed the basis of most of today’s baton twirling teams. Although baton twirling offered European and World competition, the majorettes did not have much organised competition outside of their own countries for many years.
This changed in 1996, when Germany hosted the first NBTA European Majorette Championships. This competition has grown from strength to strength, with majorettes from many countries taking part.
In 2025, IBTF will continue offering European competition for majorettes, as well as World competition.
In order to compete at these IBTF championships, majorettes will need to be members of United Twirl England. UTE offers a Majorette membership and will select its majorette representatives to represent the organisation at both the IBTF European & World Championships.
If interested in joining the majorette section, please contact us by filling in the membership enquiry form.
